This whole controversy over the Democratic Primary in Michigan and Florida is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen. If we go back to last year and all the way up to the first Primary, there was virtually no one complaining and making it a big issue. Now there are some who are making it a big issue. Where were these people last year? All of a sudden there are politicians who care about the voters in Michigan and Florida. If these people truly cared, they should have stood up when the decision was made to strip these two states of their delegates.
Hillary Clinton comes across as a total fraud. Even after agreeing to the decision by the Democratic National Committee, she still had plenty of time to speak out about this issue. Hillary didn't care about these voters when it appeared like she didn't need them. Now that Hillary needs these voters, she is singing a different tune. Florida Governor, Charlie Christ, is another one who comes across as a total fraud. I can't recall hearing a peep from him until recently. Now I have seen him numerous times doing interviews and acting like he cares about the Florida Democratic voters. Where was Charlie last year? He knew they were going to be stripped of their delegates, why didn't he stand up for the voters then? Only when Charlie realized that it might create problems for the Democrats, did he make it a big issue. There were a few politicians who complained from the beginning. These people are justified in making this an issue, but those who didn't stand up last year seem like total frauds.
The voters must also accept responsibility for not speaking up last year. Where were the demonstrations and rallies? If the people made their dissatisfaction known then, we wouldn't be dealing with this issue now. These voters should have demanded that their Primary be moved back so their delegates would count. Where are the people who scheduled these Primarys? This is where the anger should be directed. They knew the rules, but chose to break them anyway. I believe it would be a bad move to redo these Primarys; it sets a bad trend for future elections. If Florida and Michigan get a do over, what stops more states from moving up their Primary next election? The message would be that there are no consequences for breaking the rules. I think it stinks that these votes aren't going to count, but it is not the Democratic National Committee's fault, it is not the Presidential candidate's fault, it is the fault of whoever chose to break the rules. These people should be receiving all the heat, this way people might think twice before deciding to break the rules next time.
