We hear many people in the news media criticize the politicians, we the people talk about how they are crooks, and the approval rating for congress is around twenty percent, but what will happen come election time? After being told what a lousy job our elected representatives are doing, already believing most politicians are corrupt, and highly disapproving of the job that Congress is doing, we will send most of them back to Washington. We will send back most of the same people who haven't solved any of our nation's problems for the last 25 to 30 years. The same ones who continue to drive up our national debt and future financial obligations. The same people who we will again give low approval ratings. Who is at fault here, the politicians or the people that keep electing them? Election time is when the true approval ratings come out. If we truly disapprove of the performance of our elected representatives, then there should be very few of them returning to Washington.
Part of the problem is that most people believe the fault lies with the other representatives and not their guy or gal. Well, I've got news for you, most likely the problem is your guy or gal. I haven't heard or seen any member of Congress who is making noise and trying to get America moving in the right direction. We have a bunch of people who are too busy worrying about getting re-elected to take a chance and stand for something. Since our elected representatives won't take a stand, it is time for we the people to take one. If we really have such a low approval rating for Congress, let us show it at the polls.
