An Inconvenient Inconvenience

Life certainly is full of inconvenience. Those difficult and annoying things that happen along the way only add more stress to the challenges of life. Everybody has to deal with inconvenience, but do we ever consider the cause of it? A true inconvenience is one that happens as a result of something beyond our control. If we are driving along and end up running out of gas, we are faced with an inconvenience.  This was something that we could have avoided by putting more gas in the car before it ran out. This is an inconvenience that was created, or what I like to call, an inconvenient inconvenience. These are the things that we can prevent from happening.

With many challenges and an uncertain future for our nation, it is a good time to think about what we can prevent. There are going to be some things that are out of our control, but there will be many that we can control. In order to prevent inconvenience we are going to have to be inconvenienced. If we do nothing, we will still be inconvenienced, but it will not be of our own choosing. If we are faced with the prospect of inconvenience, wouldn't it make more sense to decide how we'll be inconvenienced, rather than have it thrust upon us?  Being able to choose our own inconvenience is a convenient inconvenience, or more simply put, sacrifice.

There is no way that we will be able to get America moving in the right direction without sacrifice. Every challenge that our nation has overcome was a result of sacrifice. I can't think of one instance where our nation faced difficult times and overcame it without sacrifice. Maybe that is why they are called difficult times, they require sacrifice which is hard for us to do. We are facing difficult times, which will only be overcome by choosing sacrifice. If we don't choose sacrifice then I fear we are choosing to sacrifice our children's future.
